Join us in Celebrating our 11TH ANNUAL BIG GAY 5K!

Milwaukee Gay Sports Network Inc. is honored to partner with the Heffelfinger Family to host our 10th annual 5K Run/Walk! In memory of Grant Heffelfinger, the event will be held on September 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Veterans Park.

The Big Gay 5K is a major fundraiser of the MGSN, Milwaukee Gay Sports Network (a 501(c)(3) organization). 2024 marks our 11th Annual BIG GAY 5K run/walk, which promotes health and wellness within the LGBT community. In 2023, we had nearly 200 participants and generated $5,000 for Pathfinders Milwaukee Inc.

We appreciate all of the support and we excited to be coming back with a bigger and better 5K for you this September!

Grant’s ambition to achieve whatever challenge he undertook helped him to accomplish any goal he set out to pursue. He was caring and compassionate to everyone he met and his welcoming attitude was indisputable.

He loved his family, friends and all of the adventures that his life took him on.  His curiosity of the world led him to explore many countries and he enjoyed embracing the various cultures always bringing something back with him to share, whether it was a local cocktail or meal he had enjoyed while he was there. Grant loved to encourage others to be independent, break with the status quo, and help them achieve their healthy lifestyle and personal goals. He enjoyed finding the best fashion for the holidays and was always dressed for the occasion. On Christmas and just about any other cold day throughout the year, there was a good chance you’d find him sporting one of his elf hats.

Grant was a strong and selfless person who put others before himself. He touched so many people with his positive attitude and inspiring outlook on life. May his work and advocacy for causes he cared for continue through his family and friends.
